So I haven't blogged in four months, shame on me and I will proudly blame that on our move to Singapore to work at LucasFilm. Since the move we've been loving work during the week and spending our weekend exploring the city, ergo no time to blog. But as a Chinese New Year resolution I want to put some quality time into blogging.
Chinese New Year focuses a lot of family, luck and well wishes for the year to come and I've definitely learnt a lot about appreciating things like family, a quiet home (and cheap wine) in the short time we've been here.
Working at LucasFilm is definitely a career milestone and there isn't a day (well perhaps there is) that I don't feel very lucky to be a part of the team. But luck really has nothing to do with it because if you asked me 5 months ago if I felt lucky, sitting at home unemployed in my work out gear as my job applications went unanswered or rejected, I would've said no. It took hard work, patience and commitment to get to this point and I take no day for granted.
This Chinese New Year, I wish happiness and adventure upon all my family and friends because that's what makes life fun. Read more about Chinese New Year traditions here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_New_Year
So this year I'm not using the excuse that I'm too busy to blog. I'm going to (try) to enjoy Singapore and by the end of the year I want a LucasFilm 'Employee of the Year' plaque on the wall.
